Chester Bennington, vocalist for Linkin Park and for a brief time frontman of STP, has died according to TMZ. He was just 41 years old. Law enforcement officials apparently believe Bennington died from suicide, his body found hanging inside is Los Angeles residence.
Bennington and his band Linkin Park rose to fame in 2000 with debut record ‘Hybrid Theory’ and are considered to be pioneers of grass-roots online-only marketing which has now become common place in 2017. The record was certified diamond with over 11 million copies sold and was nominated at the 2002 Grammy Awards for ‘Best Rock Album’.
Fans immediately took to twitter to mourn his loss, even myself, admittedly never a huge fan of Linkin Park.
Never would have called myself a huge Linkin Park fan but damn, Chester Bennington dead of suicide just sucks for music

Depression is hard to understand. But if it can kill Robin Williams, Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington I’d say it’s pretty damn real.

The band also released ‘Talking to Myself’ today at 9:01am minutes after Chester’s body was discovered.
