Audioslave reunion show announced, first in over a decade

In an unexpected and surprise announcement Audioslave have confirmed they are back specifically for a Donald Trump protest show being billed as the ‘Anti-Inaugural Ball’. The concert features Prophets Of Rage as headliner and takes place on Jan 20th. Prophets of Rage released the following:

“The Anti-Inaugural Ball is a celebration of resistance. Resistance to racism. Resistance to sexism. Resistance to homophobia. Resistance to bullying. Resistance to environmental devastation. Resistance to fascism. Resistance to Donald Trump.”

“We are staring down the barrel of a dystopian nightmare unless we act NOW, unless we fight back NOW. We intend to create ‘No Trump Zones’ across the country; in our homes, our schools, our places of work, and our concert stages. Bad Presidents make for great music. Join us as we get loud and stand together to defend our rights, our country, and our planet.”

Is the Audioslave get-together a full on reunion? hard to say. Tom Morello and Chris Cornell have both said they’re open to getting things rolling again but various projects (Soundgarden, Prophets of Rage, Wakrat) see to be taking up their respective time. Hopefully not the last we’ve heard on this thread.
